Stronger
Families
WEEKEND CONFERENCE
FOR YOUR
CONGREGATION
There has
never been a better time to invest in the lives of parents and
their families. Hard economic times and the decline of wholesome
values have family-failure statistics at an all-time high. We can
turn the tide and bring our families back to: healthy
husband/wife relationships - un-broken, whole homes - balanced
financial budgets - well behaved, godly children, and a loving
support system for life.

The sessions are conducted by Paul Kendall, KFN founder
and
host of the popular radio program "Family
Matters" and
his wife, Evie. Combining
25 years of ministry and 28 years of marriage and parenting,
they speak from first-hand knowledge of the challenges facing
families every day from; marriage problems – to desperate
financial problems – to raising godly kids.
A common format for this conference is to conduct the three
sessions on a Saturday and make Sunday morning a family service
with Paul preaching a family oriented message.
A good time schedule for the Saturday sessions is the following:
|
| SATURDAY
MORNING | 10 AM - NOON | SESSION
ONE: FAMILY
FINANCIAL PLAN |
THIS SESSION
FOCUSES ON:
the importance of creating an effective budget; eliminating
debt; and biblical stewardship. The Crown Financial budget
method (originally created by Rev. Larry Burkett) is combined
with Paul & Evie's personal testimony of how this program freed them from the bondage of
debt.
THE GOAL
OF THIS SESSION:
for
couples to realize where they are financially; to create a
working budget; understand the world's credit system; to have a
plan to eliminate debt; and to understand Biblical financial
principals including the importance of tithes and offerings. |
|
| BREAK
FOR LUNCH | NOON
- 1 PM |
Lunch
can be provided by the church or; an open hour for everyone
to get lunch on their own. |
| |
| SATURDAY
AFTERNOON | 1 PM - 3 PM | SESSION
TWO: MARRIAGE SURVIVAL
KIT |
THIS SESSION
FOCUSES ON:
several fundamental principles that help couples communicate,
make joint decisions, and resolve issues, such as; the root of
anger; how to disagree; the power of words; and the importance
of being Spirit-led. Paul & Evie have counseled couples for
years using these same principles and, to date, every couple
they've counseled is
still married.
THE GOAL
OF THIS SESSION:
for
couples to learn reliable methods of communicating and resolving
conflict; strengthening their relationship and permanently
closing the door of divorce. |
|
| SESSION
BREAK | 3 PM - 3:30 PM |
Short
break between sessions. |
| |
| SATURDAY
AFTERNOON | 3:30 PM -
5:50 PM | SESSION THREE: PARENTING
ABSOLUTES |
THIS SESSION
FOCUSES ON:
the principles that must be in
place to raise godly children. Paul's recipe for raising great
kids is "One ton of discipline and two ton's of
love". This session stresses the importance of both and
how to balance them.
THE GOAL
OF THIS SESSION:
for parents to learn reliable methods of disciplining their
children and building strong, loving relationships that will
sustain their growth and produce godly kids. |
| |
| SUNDAY
MORNING | REGULAR SERVICE
TIME | SESSION FOUR: SPECIAL
FAMILY SERVICE |
THIS
SESSION FOCUSES ON: Paul
shares a family oriented message (for a 25 minute sample message
CLICK
HERE). This service is usually promoted as
a "Special Family Service" or "Family Day".
THE GOAL
OF THIS SESSION:
to understand that a strong family begins with a strong
relationship with Christ, for congregants to commit to church attendance with their
families; to build the church; to build community and life-long
relationships.
|
|
The
session format (beginning on Saturday at 10 AM and ending at 5:30 PM)
allows couples time to sleep in; attend the conference; and
still get out early enough to do something in the evening.
